Warranty Policy

Lid Warranty Coverage

Warranty Coverage for our Lid Line which includes the following Lid Frame Types:

  • Minimalist
  • Fusion Vent
  • Straight Edge Fusion Vent

These frames are all warrantied by Top Lids for a period of 5 Years after Receiving Delivery Condition + Fit Test Pictures.

This means that when and ONLY WHEN BOTH 1) you have received your lid from us, and 2) you have sent pictures of the Delivery Condition and the Fit of your new Top Lid, directly to clients@toplids.com through the transfer method specified by Top Lids, will Warranty Coverage from us be officially started.

Any and all warranties are up to the full discretion of Top Lids.


Top Lids Warranty Protects Against:

  • Scratches, cuts, bends, and twists of lid frame on delivery
  • Screen severs or punctures on delivery
  • Spline unrolling from spline channel on lid frame on delivery
  • Bowing or warping of lid frame while on the specific tank it was made for, under normal and recommended use by Top Lids, over the full extent of the Warranty period
  • Hazing, yellowing, or discoloring of lid frame while on the specific tank it was made for, under normal and recommended use by Top Lids, over the full extent of the Warranty period
  • Lid not fitting at the fault of Top Lids
    • For custom orders, this only applies when the model that was directly shown to and approved by the Client (You) to produce ended up being different than the lid that was produced by Top Lids and send to the Client
    • For all other cases, they will fall under the "Does Not Protect Against" section of Warranty coverage below

 

Does Not Protect Against:

  • Any of the above mentioned issues that was not shown to Top Lids through clear image or video within 30 days of order delivery
  • Any Lids that do not fit the Client's tank, but are the exact same as the model Approved by the Client to produce and ship to them
  • Any Lids that do not fit the Client's tank, due to an incorrect measurement given to Top Lids by the Client
  • Any form of damage or harm to the product due to misuse or rough treatment outside of Top Lids specific intended use, during the entire Warranty period or after
  • Lid frame scratches, cuts, bends, and twists due to user misuse or rough treatment outside of Top Lids specific intended use, during the entire Warranty period or after
  • Any scratches, cuts, bends, and twists that are considered solely by Top Lids to be minor, and to not largely affect the function or aesthetic of the product as a whole
  • Screen severs or punctures due to user misuse or rough treatment outside of Top Lids specific intended use, during the entire Warranty period or after
  • Spline unrolling from spline channel on lid frame due to user misuse or rough treatment outside of Top Lids specific intended use, during the entire Warranty period or after
  • Bowing or warping of lid frame while on the specific tank it was made for due to user misuse or rough treatment outside of Top Lids specific intended use, during the entire Warranty period or after
  • Hazing, yellowing, or discoloring of lid frame while on the specific tank it was made for due to user misuse or rough treatment outside of Top Lids specific intended use, during the entire Warranty period or after
  • Tanks that are not square, or one side of the tank having a vastly different measurement than the other side of the tank. The general variation that would cause a problem is between 1/8" and 1/4", but varies per tank. It is the Client's responsibility to measure each side of their tank to be sure that there are no large discrepancies in measurements, either front to back or side to side. If the Client chooses to measure their tank to check this before their lid is produced, and it is found later that the tank is not square and the lid that Top Lids makes will not fit, the project will be able to be halted and changed if the lid has not been cut yet. If the Client does not measure their tank before the lid has been cut and lets Top Lids know about a variation in measurements only after a lid has started cutting, then it is impossible to reverse and no refunds or cancellations will be able to made to any degree.

 

Any replaced / remade products will have full new warranty coverage if the previous is defective. Warranty coverage for the new product will start at the time of Top Lids receiving delivery and fit test pictures / video from the Client.

All warranty coverage above applies ONLY TO LID PRODUCTS MADE OUT OF POLYCARBONATE. Any Acrylic or 3D Printed products do not have any Warranty coverage from Top Lids in any way, and any replacements or repairs to be made to said products are at the full and complete discretion of Top Lids. No liability or obligation to replace or repair any Non-Warrantied Items in an order shall be placed on Top Lids for any reason or no reason.

Any accepted warrantied items to be remade or fixed will not include any additional items that are not defective. Only the defective items will be replaced / fixed.

 

UV Spline Warranty

UV Splines produced and installed by Top Lids DO NOT HAVE ANY WARRANTY COVERAGE ASSOCIATED WITH THEM.

Clients will see the best brightness from the UV Spline within the first 2-12 months of use, depending on the UV Spectrum being used, light type being used, where the light is placed in relation to the UV Spline, etc.

The brightness of the UV Spline will eventually begin to dim, and will continue to dim over time. This is the affect of the UV Spectrum from the lights on the UV Spline itself, and cannot be avoided (based on our testing).

 

Terms and Conditions for Consent at Purchase

Upon placing an order through Top Lids, each Client of ours agrees to the Terms above and also agrees to follow them in good faith on both the side of the Client and Top Lids. If the above Terms are not followed, any promises or guarantees made by Top Lids to the Client are voided.
