Top Lids on Top

To start let me say that I wish I bought customs lids seven years ago when I started in the hobby and I'm writing this a few day since the lids were place on the tank. With that said, lids are the most overlooked piece of equipment in the hobby until you have loss of life. Personally I had a few recently which were unacceptable.
I reached out to the crew at Top Lids on more than one occasion and they always were professional and patient. When I finally started the process I was told that it would be an 8 to 10 week process and that measurements will make of break the project. We came in right on time and I found the process quick easy and efficient. The use of direct link to videos from emails were quite brilliant and made for no mistakes in the process.
Something to consider when working with any customer is the "customer service". Every call and every text I sent along the way were replied to within a day or two and usually from the owner of the company. It felt more like working with a friend than just a company but, always professional. It was quite nice to hear, "Hello Joseph, what's up" with every call.
My lids were at my front door when I read the email that had the tracking number. I rushed to the door to do the videos. Opened and unpacked the lids, took pictures, placed them on the tank and took more pictures. Extremely pleased with each one I opened (Marineland 180 - 3 panels). These lids are beautiful pieces of art with all the functionality a reef keepers needs.
To put a pin on how these guys work, Tyler called my personally to see how I like the lids just to close the circle. That is the type and customer service we all wish for when doing business. I have nothing but high praise for my Top Lids and my experience working with them has been nothing less the great. I will be covering my other two tanks when I can (possibly three i the wife let one more through the door).
Cost is a factor and why i reached put a few times prior. These are custom lids and are not inexpensive but, worth every penny spent. I cannot wait to get a few new wrasses in the tank.

FAQ

What materials are your lids made of?

Our lid frames are made from polycarbonate, thick enough to thoroughly support the lid, but slim enough to keep away excessive condensation and salt creep. Our screens are individually made for us, with thin screen fibers that let through more PAR than other screens, and openings small enough (slightly larger than 1/8") for even the smallest fish or eels to not wiggle through. These materials are water-resistant, easy to clean, and provide long-lasting multi-year protection for your aquarium.

What's the easiest way to start an order?

For standard, mass-marketed tanks:

  1. Find your tank product page.
  2. Select options for lights, auto feeders, and evap covers. We've preselected the most common options for each specific tank for you.
  3. Proceed through Checkout, no measurements needed.

For custom tanks:

  1. Reach a lid designer through our phone number at the top or live chat button at the bottom right of the page.
  2. Your lid designer will reach out to walk through best options and provide a no-obligation custom quote.
  3. If you'd like to get started, we'll help guide through next steps smoothly.

I'm new to the hobby / just starting my tank, can I have some advice on best options?

Absolutely, we'd love to consult on best options for your specific tank and use case to make sure your lid is perfectly future-proofed and functional. Call / text the phone number at the top of the page, or click the orange live chat button in the bottom right to reach one of our professional lid designers live.
