The Absolute Best!

I tried modding the stock Fluval lid, then ordered a few custom ones off Etsy—but nothing worked quite right. The Fluval lid just wasn’t built for customization without getting messy, and every Etsy lid I tried was slightly off—either too wide, too flimsy, or just awkward to use.

Then a guy at my local fish store recommended Top Lids, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. I’ve heavily modified my Fluval Flex 15, adding CO2, an air stone, and rear sump covers—so I was genuinely worried about how precise the measurements and cord cutouts would need to be. I had tubing, stainless diffusers, and random gear coming out of every side.

Top Lids absolutely nailed it. They worked with me to get every detail right, and the final product is spot-on. Not only does it fit perfectly around all my custom gear, but it’s also incredibly practical—easy to feed through, easy to remove for maintenance, and super easy to clean.

Honestly, this is the lid I wish I'd started with. It does everything I need, and I’ll definitely be ordering from Top Lids again for my next two builds.

What materials are your lids made of?

Our lid frames are made from polycarbonate, thick enough to thoroughly support the lid, but slim enough to keep away excessive condensation and salt creep. Our screens are individually made for us, with thin screen fibers that let through more PAR than other screens, and openings small enough (slightly larger than 1/8") for even the smallest fish or eels to not wiggle through. These materials are water-resistant, easy to clean, and provide long-lasting multi-year protection for your aquarium.
